Shauna Gillan Shauna Gillan is a barrister practising in immigration, crime and public law in London.  She worked with Michelle at the Legal Aid Department of Malawi for three months in 2006.  Shauna has also worked in other developing countries including Kenya, Burundi and Thailand and she firmly believes that international NGOs need work harder at supporting local initiatives rather than imposing their own ideas.  She considers that Nyumba Ya Thanzi's defining strength lies in the fact that the projects they support are Malawian-run, for Malawians and is proud to be a trustee of a charity which empowers those it seeks to help. e: shauna@houseofgoodhealth.org.uk
