Charlotte Attwood

Charlotte first got involved with Nyumba Ya Thanzi in 2008 when she spent time living in Senga Bay, researching the impact of the centre for her Masters dissertation. Her particular focus was the importance of local initiative and cultural sensitivity in development, which was what led her to Nyumba. She was so impressed by the wonderful influence the centre is having and Nyumba's general ethos that she has been volunteering with us in the UK ever since. Charlotte was made a trustee in 2010.

Charlotte is a broadcast journalist, working for the BBC. She has spent most of her career so far working as a producer for the African service of the BBC World Service, although she's currently working at BBC Radio 4. Charlotte's connection with Africa, and in particular Malawi, stemmed from her family and extensive travelling across Africa
